The English and Film Studies BA program at the University of Leeds offers students the opportunity to explore the intersection of literature and film, and to develop critical thinking and analytical skills in both areas. Students will study a range of literary and cinematic texts, from classic works to contemporary films, and will have the opportunity to engage with theoretical approaches to both disciplines.
The program is designed to provide students with a solid foundation in both English literature and film studies, while also allowing them to specialize in areas of particular interest. Students will have the opportunity to take modules in areas such as film theory, adaptation studies, genre studies, and postcolonial literature and film.
Throughout the program, students will develop their skills in critical analysis, research, and communication, and will have the opportunity to work on independent research projects and creative assignments. Graduates of the program will be well-equipped for a range of careers in fields such as publishing, journalism, media, and the arts, as well as further study at the postgraduate level.
